I thin it out. Doesn't stain my skin or scalp. I should have gone lighter on the color. Only good for small areas. Before you read on the most important thing to remember is to go one shade lighter than your "natural" color.. I have dark brown hair and the medium was more than dark enough. I needed a color filler just for the gray of my side burns that seems to turn gray days after I apply permanent color. This is perfect except for the application. The applicator is shaped like one you use for mascara but it applies in one small clump. I smoothed it out with my fingers and the coverage was very natural. Of course I had brown "dye" all over my fingers but it washed off with soap and water very easily. The next time I used a square 2 by 2 inch cotton pad and it smoothed everything out perfectly. I am very happy with this, the inconvenience of applying it is very small compared to the desired result. I would not go back to the colored crayons after purchasing this. I would not recommend this for large areas of roots. |
