(CA, USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Maybelline New York Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil, 643 Medium Brown, 0.0010 Ounce (Misc.) i don't know why other reviews have such low ratings but if you look at the reviews on makeupalley.com, the rating for this brow pencil is superb and i definitely agree with the reviews on there. i love the slim design so you won't ever have to sharpen the pencil. in order to avoid the pencil from snapping you would need to twist the pencil little by little. don't twist the pencil too much otherwise it would snap, and that is why the other reviews had complaints about it because they were twisting it out too much. you're also wasting it when you twist out too much. on the other hand, the color is perfect. i got the color in medium brown. it's ashy and not reddish so it looks natural on dark colored hair. 12 of 15 people found the following review helpful  What a joke. I bought this eyebrow pencil at my local grocery store when I ran out of my Avon Glimmersticks eyebrow liner and didn't want to have to wait to order it online. I prefer the "twist up" style of eyebrow liner over pencils because I don't like dealing with sharpeners and shavings.I paid $5 for this pencil and it's an absolute rip off. First, the product can be twisted up but not back down, so if you twist too much product up it breaks off easily. Which is the BIGGEST problem with this pencil. The product it so thin and dry and cheap that even if I twist up just enough product to use on my brows, the tip breaks off while I'm applying it. My vanity has little tiny pieces of this pencil all over it, and I've used up almost the entire pencil in under 2 weeks. This is a cheap, bad product, do not buy it. I am 64 and believe me, in 45 years, I have never found as good an eyebrow pencil as this one. Of course, they've discontinued my color which is brown/black, but I love this product so much that I will order the brown and hope it works as I have black eyebrows, but light brown hair. This is the first eyebrow pencil that looks like real eyebrow hairs when I put it on and it stays put. My eyebrows are sparse now due to age and I love this pencil. Bravo, but alas, companies always discontinue a super good product, so I have learned to buy several of any item when I find a good one. Highly recommend (while it lasts). |
