Notice that all of the positive reviews are from women who dye their hair red. I, on the other hand, have natural red hair (which as I've gotten older has truly turned auburn). Unfortunately my eyebrows are a pale blonde. I was using Godefroy light brown eyebrow tint (which BTW is a much better product than this) but I thought it would be nice to have something with more red in it. My fear was that it would turn out that weird purplish red that you sometimes see women dye their hair. I was right to be afraid. The color does not look even remotely natural on me. I'm going to try buying the brown tint and mixing it in to see if I can get a better match but I wouldn't recommend this for natural red heads. The other thing I don't like about it is that it takes a lot longer to use than the Godefroy eyebrow tints (which literally allow you to tint your brows start to finish in 5 minutes).

I have ashy brown hair, and I get it dyed red; so the last thing I need is green eyebrows contrasting with my red hair. I used to get it tinted at the salon, but they charge quite a bit. With this, I just mix up as much as I need with a cotton swab, apply it with a cotton swab, wipe it off after 5 minutes or so with a cotton pad and water...ta da! My eyebrows are now tinted red. It's easy, fast, and I think you would have to be an idiot to get it in your eyes.

My eyebrows have faded as my hair has grayed. I keep my hair my natural red color thanks to my salon, so I was excited to find this product. The purple color that the cream turns with mixed gave me reason to pause, but once it was wiped off they looked wonderful. Easy as pie to use - I agree with the other reviewer who said it would be a real challenge to accidentally get it in your eyes. Easy, quick, wonderful product.

I absolutely LOVE this mascara! I have been using it for 5 years straight now and it has never let me down. I tend to favor prestige brands when it comes to the rest of my makeup (e.g. Smashbox, Bare Minerals, Lorac, etc) but I find that nothing else can compare with this mascara (especially for the price).

I have cried many, many times with this mascara on and it never smudges or runs down my face. Yes, it may run if you shower or hit the waves with it on but who needs to wear mascara in the shower/at the beach anyway? Just make sure to let it dry for a few seconds before blinking after application.

I use it with an eyelash curler and it makes my eyelashes look so much thicker so much that sometimes in photos my eyelashes look fake because they are so full and voluminous. This will always be my favorite mascara! I definitely recommend it.

So this is my day of interest yesterday...

I bought a tube of Volumionous mascara and used it for the first time. While it wasn't very lash-building, it darkened my lashes really nicely so I was pleased.

I go to work...for a few hours I do my usual work activitities then my boss comes up to my desk and is talking to me, looking at me really really funny. Asks if everything is ok. VERY odd.

You might guess where this story is leading...about 30 min later in need of a potty break I head to the restroom.

OMG!!!!!

This was WAY beyond mascara flaking or smudging...it seriously looked as though someone had come by my desk, punched me hard in the right eye, did a twirl, then came back and socked me in the left one. Hard. Literally BLACK all around my eyes. Now, I'm 43. I've used a lot of mascara in my day, both waterproof and not waterproof. I don't go a day without mascara but, my friend...this took the cake.

Let me begin by saying that I have used everything from top of the line brushes to generic brushes. The price of this brush set is about the average cost of a single brush that I usually purchase.

The brush set arrived 4 days after I purchased it which was a big plus for me. I opened the package and was surprised at how big the set actually was. Since I am a poor college student, I know I have to make these brushes last since I no longer can splurge on a powder brush. I took off the plastic wrap and I could smell the vinyl 20 feet away. Big minus since it made the brushes smell funny. (I HIGHLY doubt that the make-up roll is leather) Each brush comes individually wrapped which was another plus for me. I took off each wrapper and that's when I got disappointed. Some of the brushes were fine, but others just looked pathetic. The bristles we're all over the place and super stringy. Makeup has been a hobby of mine for a while now; though I'm not a makeup artist, I know a good brush from a bad one. So let's go through my list of CONS:

1. They smell --even though I have washed them a couple times now, I still can't shake that "plastic" smell... *shrugs*
2. The hairs fall out so easily (especially the face brushes) --after I'm done putting on my makeup I'll have to... brush?...the brush hairs off my face! It's so bad that I could probably put a fake mustache together.
3. The brushes are not soft at all --I took the advice of one of the other reviewers and washed them with that baby shampoo, but after that it just smelled like a wet, plastic, baby (not good!).. OH! and I also straightened the face brushes with my straightener.. did not really make a difference.

What a great value! Each brush comes out to be less than $1 a piece and the set basically has every brush imaginable that you'll ever need. Actually I don't think I will ever use ALL of them but its fun to have a whole bunch of brushes to play with for different looks. The brushes itself are pretty good quality, the bigger brushes does shed a little but I've paid $20+ for brushes before that also shed so I guess that's expected. Don't expect department store brands quality though. Instead of spending the same amount for 1 brush at a dept store, I got 34 to play with and the quality is comparable to drug store brands. Good deal!
